Two New Series from Paul Abrams (Updated Again) and Thank you to Kirk Pickering and Django Doug

We have these new GREAT BOOKS that were put together by two regulars of the Jam night. I would like you to post on the site, a BIG SPECIAL THANK YOU to Kirk Pickering and Django Doug?; for making these GREAT JAZZ BOOKS for the Center to have "in house" for the Jazz Night. We did not ask them to do this, they just took it on and did a GREAT JOB!

Thanks to Doug and Kirk for sure.
Is there a download of the book available or only print version?

I'm grateful to be part of the contribution. Now if I can only start to hear and feel the language of this music better... There are some really wonderful melodies behind the ocean of improvisation that's available. I'll bet that some of these melodies might even appeal to old-time musicians, and players from other genres. "Standards" are standards for a reason. Like any other genre, they're just great tunes.

Regarding updates, yes there will be updates. Doug is the real ring leader here; I'm just the lackey grunt, learning along the way. Have fun! :-)

Glad the book has been well recieved. Please note that chart fixes are in the works for numerous charts (bringing at least 6 fixed charts this upcoming thurs the 28th), and additional tunes will be added at some point to.

Absolutely! Thanks so much, Doug and Kirk! A great service to those of us getting our feet wet in the ocean that is jazz! And for those of you considering the Paul Abrams workshop, I highly recommend it. Bring an open mind and a thick skin, and prepare to have everything you know stood on its head. But it will change your life, Great jam session survival skills.

Most of us play our accoustic guitars at the jam sessions here. But I was just wondering how many of you also own and play electric guitars. What kind? And what amp do you have? Tell us about it. As for me, I have a 1979 Gibson ES-175D, an arche...
