Most of us play our accoustic guitars at the jam sessions here. But I was just wondering how many of you also own and play electric guitars. What kind? And what amp do you have? Tell us about it. As for me, I have a 1979 Gibson ES-175D, an arched…

I would suspect that if Gibson guarantees/warrantys the instrument then you'd just contact them to see what they will do to make the warranty good. They'll probably do the work themselves, but I'm just guessing. warren.

I am playing a (dare I say) a Gibson J-185 Blues King and have silk and steel strings, very light for the guitar but I do this because I love the tone I get although it's very easy to over play these strings when playing bluegrass. My friend Gibby n…

Thanks for the reply, Paul... However, I can't see any use at all in calling a chord a "13" if it does not actually have a 13 note in it. For the sake of debate: If (in C) I play the 1-3-5 notes (C-E-G) I'd call that a C chord. Now I'll add the 6…

About Me:
Been playing Bluegrass guitar for over forty years. Played electric guitar (Gibson ES 175) and Fender Fretless Bass for the "Establishment", a 21 piece Big Band out of Nashville for several years (member of Musicians Union at the time).

Also play piano and played Bassoon and guitar in college, where I started out with a major in music and received a music scholarship.

What's the most fun to play? Blues and Bluegrass! And jazz!
