Announcements: Reflections: How about those Irish People! WOW! That session on Sat was so fun! The 5th Irish Workshop the biggest ever and reports are that it was the best ever too! Folks are already asking about the next one. Well... If folks want it to happen again, we need some people to step up to market the next one. Not last minute either. It is scary enough that most everyone signs up last minute. If you are someone that could help in this area, please let it be known by August (or…See More

Reflections: Thinking of the month of March, musically speaking, the phrase March Madness just does not fit, but rather “March Happiness or busyness”. The first weekend enjoyed the Cedars of Lebanon “Breakin' Up Winter” Old Time music weekend. Then the Ceili party at the Shamrock Castle and the St Pats party at the Fiddle & Pick. Then finishing out the month with a smashing crowd for the Buddy Greene Harmonica Workshop and concert. Buddy is truly a positive force on stage and also a great…See More

Reflections:

*** Tim & I (Gretchen) performed at the new location for Cotton Music.  What a treat it was.  It was the best of all things; great sounding room, cool instruments; great friends in the audience. The folks that work there are top notch hosts! Thank you so much Rick and Kit for having us in concert. Thank you Andy Smith for playing with us too.  I encourage everyone to check out this really neat store in the the old jelly & Jam factory. Make note…

Hi Gretchen,

Wanted to thank you for the dulcimer sessions! I had talked with you about some dulcimer lessons last year about this time, but have not had time to keep in touch. Then one day I managed to look at the web. I still don't have the time to devote, but I was able to attend the session Wed. and meet those nice folks. Hopefully, I can attend regularly and maybe take some private lessons from Steven.

Also thank you for the Claire Lynch show. It was delightful! I look forward to more things like this in the future. (My hubby is the one who spilled the coffee - so very sorry!) Would love to hear Laurie McClain as I keep missing her on writers nights..

I still have not taken the full tour of the building. Can I do that most any evening and leave a little something in the tip jar?!

Thanks,
Angela Judd

Hey Gretchen, I had a great time on sunday at the Old Time Picking. I got a great history lesson on how bluegrass came about. You and Tim are both good people and made me feel welcome. Everyone there at the session was great and talented. I look forward to the bluegrass jam sessions, and oneday soon take dobro lessons from Mike Witcher. Thanks, Chris Carver

Gretchen, I met you at the Alaska Traditional Music Camp earlier this month and just wanted to thank you !! for coming all the way up here and sharing your energy, style and enthusiasm! You took the time to talk to me and give me a tip for improving on the fiddle, and you've inspired me to continue exploring other venues as well. You are beautiful, talented and a real human being; and this webside is awesome! Thank you.
