So I'm looking for a good source for a couple of braided leather mando straps. Also, want to put a button on the butt-end of the neck of my little Eastman. I hate having the strap up at the head stock. I've looked at Elderly and Janet Davis for st...
Some folks, like NOTSBA, hold specifically designated "slow jams" at which tunes are taught sloooowwwwwly and everybody can play along regardless of skill level.

Been reading in Acoustic Guitar about "guide tones" and wonder if that's something I'm already doing naturally. Any guidance?
I'm a lousy student who doesn't have the patience for following a pedantic formula and theory. I.E., fret only the 3rd a...

I'm new to this F&P site so I haven't seen any replies to your "3"s and 7's" question. I don't know how they approached it in the magazine but in jazz quite often the soloists want the accompaniest to use 3's & 7's (bass players' got the root) so they can improvise on the upper extensions of a chord (9,11,13) or the alterations (#5,b5,#9,b9) without potential conflicts with the harmony. It's also a great sound in Blues and very easy to execute.

Thanks Ed. I'm spending most of my time in the mountains of North Georgia these days. My recording service has morphed into a publishing and record company. I'm releasing products of two artists due out starting in about two weeks - one Americana project and the other is a rock project. Check out my Your Place or Mine Digital website and blog for details. I come to the jams anytime I am in Nashville, but those days are few and far between these days. I am trying to sell or lease my Nashville home as I am in the process of relocating to the mountains of North Georgia. There are many creative folks up here in the mountains that can use my services - me coming to them is much simpler than them packing up and coming to Nashville. But anytime I am in Nashville I hope to see you at some jams - the jams are about the only thing I miss in Nashville these days. Thanks for the ADD. Keep on pickin'!!!

Most of us play our accoustic guitars at the jam sessions here.
But I was just wondering how many of you also own and play electric guitars. What kind? And what amp do you have? Tell us about it.
