I grew up being carted around to different venues and jams by my parents. We learned to sing harmony before we could talk. Our rehearsals occurred during every car ride we ever went on. When younger, I used to fall asleep under tables and benches to the sound of bluegrass music ringing in my ears. We had a family bluegrass band called The Lost Kentuckians. The band consisted of mom, Hope Randolph, dad, Curt Randolph, my sister, Candace Randolph, myself and anyone fiddler or sideman that we could pick up along the way (mostly boyfriends and husbands LOL). We were born in central Illinois and started playing around surrounding cities in Illinois and Iowa. I have since played with many people, whoever needs me, etc. A little over four years ago I toured for a few months with David Petersen and 1946, giving me a chance to relive my youth playing at all the festivals again as I did in earlier years. At that point, I realized that youth is wasted on the youth and that true appreciation for what we had came with age. It makes me happy and very reminiscent to see the younger generations loving and playing bluegrass as I did. This music is special and I am very grateful for my heritage and roots in bluegrass music!
