I hope it's okay for me to post this here, but I wanted to let all the dulcimer players nearby know, before Christmas is past, about this music. You can listen to songs from the EP at www.lindasack.com
. I would love to hear how you like it.
My new EP, "A Mountain Dulcimer Christmas," was just released! It includes seven of the most beautiful melodies of all time, including Greensleeves (What Child Is This), I Wonder As I Wander, Silent Night, Stille, Stille, Stille, and In the Bleak Midwinter. Six instrumental tunes, one with vocals.
I am joined on this recording by Christopher Cheatham on banjo, TJ Larkin on bouzouki, and Brenda Kerr on percussion. The arrangements are all a little unusual. The vocal version of Silent Night was blended together from harmonies recalled from good ole' childhood Christmases. There is a generous review of this new album at http://everythingdulcimer.com/discuss/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=22599
It's just $10. The front cover is an original mosaic of snow-covered trees, assembled from Italian and Mexican smalti. Yep, hand-cut.
Anyway, the EP makes a nice little gift. Why not pick up two or three for your friends and family? : )
This is the beginning of a collection I have long dreamed of producing, for friends and family to enjoy in years to come. With it, I send my wishes for all those great things like "peace on earth, good will toward men"...."tidings of comfort and joy" and the intangible simplicities Christmas used to represent.
Thanks for celebrating this with me!
With best wishes for all your holidays,
