Friends:

I’m thrilled to announce not one, but TWO great house concerts this month, featuring some of the finest Irish musicians in the states! Since appearances by such players in our area are rare you won’t want to miss either one! These shows are exceptional opportunities to hear superb music in an intimate setting at my home in Murfreesboro.

Seating is limited so make your reservations today! Either reply to this e-mail or call me at 615-895-5042 to get your name on the list. Directions and more details will follow. Feel free to pass the word along to others. --Paul Wells

Tony DeMarco of New York City is one of the finest Irish fiddlers of his generation. He absorbed the stylings of the city’s legendary Sligo-style masters such as Paddy Reynolds, Martin Wynne, and Andy McGann and plays in his own, fully-developed style. Tony’s new CD, The Sligo Indians, is one of the most exciting Irish fiddle albums of recent years and this concert is part of a southern tour to launch it in our area.

Paddy O’Brien and Pat Egan are old friends and Middle Tennessee favorites who have visited here numerous times in the past as two-thirds of the group Chulrua. Paddy & Pat are touring as a duo while the third member of Chulrua, fiddler Patrick Ourceau, takes some paternity leave! Join them for a wonderful evening of top-notch accordion playing from Paddy and terrific songs & guitar accompaniment from Pat!

Just joined today ! Looking forward to hearing and hopefully meeting people who love Irish music !. Just heard a gal named Marianne Knight who used to sing with Celtic Crossroads and now is with Ceide. Anyone ever heard her sing?
She has a very haunting voice.

For those interested, I've added another discography to the Blogs, this time pertaining to 1970s revival recordings. This is of course a select discography that reflects my personal tastes. There were a lot of recordings in the 1970s.

For those interested, I have posted a brief article (for lack of a better term) concerning several misconceptions surrounding Irish traditional music. Please check it out.
