About the HammerJam
The HammerJam is a clawhammer-only jam concept.
The clawhammer banjo has a style all its own. Often drowned out or dominated by other instruments, the clawhammer can lose its unique flavor in a sea of other instrumentation.
The HammerJam is for clawhammer players who want to hear and learn from other clawhammer players. We expect some folks to bring fiddles along with their banjos, since the mountain fiddle and banjo are like brother and sister, but the music on the table will be played using clawhammer phrasing and styling.
We don't expect a huge crowd but if we like what happens on Tuesday, we might just schedule another one in.

The first HammerJam was a fantastic experience. All banjo all the time.

Susie, I plan to attend tonight but will be there to listen since I don't know much about clawhammer but I am currently taking lessons on the banjo. I may want to change to clawhammer style playing. I hope others show up.
