Hey Folks, unless there are objections (in which case someone has to learn the words and be prepared to sing and lead the song), I am deleting My Walkin Shoes Don't Fit Me Anymore from the songlist. It was Daniel's pick, and since he has left us for the wilds of New England, we should replace it.

Sheri, there is no turning back now. You have made the leap! Don't FRET over the number of songs, you'll have them down before you know it. And if you don't, that's ok too. No pressure from any of us.

We're all doin the best we can with what we got. . . and remember: just take away ONE thing that will stick with you for each of these sessions.  It adds up.  If you can't come up with a whole break, go for half; we'll do split breaks. . . they sound real nice and musical.  Great to see the discussion here.

Happy New Year!

Hey Thanks Bobby!  I'll at least try to learn the chord progression by next class.  I am currently working 7 days a week so I'm going to have to pick only a couple I can come with a solo  for.  I should be able to do "Little Cabin Home on the Hill" no problem and I am currently working on a banjo break for "Roll in My Sweet Baby's Arms".  For the others, I'll at least learn the chord progression.  Man, Stan's really working us!  I might need to hang with the Slow Jammers from now on!  :)

On "Walking Shoes", I was playing G shapes, but I don't remember if we had the capo on - so was it in "G" or "A"?

We were also doing Bill Cheatham and Old Joe Clark

OK, thanks Mike!  That's a lot of songs to work on (not sure I can get to all of them).  I also get assignments from my instructor (Alan O'Bryant) so I will try to keep up with everything.  At a minimum, I will at least learn the chord progression for each of the songs so I can play better backup the next time we get together in January.  I think there was also another song (something like "My Walking Shoes Don't Fit Me Anymore" and I cannot remember the key we played it in).  Do you remember that one?

Sheri, the song in c is "Can't You Hear Me Callin'"  (Sweet Heart of Mine)

Hey Stan,

Thanks for the Bluegrass Rookies class last night.  This morning, I tried to write down the songs we are supposed to be working on but I couldn't remember all of them... I know we are working on "Little Cabin Home on the Hill" in A, "Who Will Sing for Me" in G and "Roll in My Sweet Baby's Arms" in G but I cannot remember the other 2 (I believe one of them was in the key of C).  Do you remember what they were?
